Train / Retrain Spam Filtering System using Synergy Webmail
Spam Training with Synergy Webmail
For many people, spam has become a growing problem as spammers adapt to and defeat spam filtering systems based on older technologies.
Simplicato Inc., offers a new Spam Filtering system based on next generation technologies. In addition to being adaptable to new spammer techniques, our new spam filtering system allows our customers to train it for customizable filtering results.
The result is an easy to use and highly effective spam filtering system which will dramatically reduce or eliminate any issues with spam.
How to train the spam filtering system with Synergy Webmail:
In order to train the spam filtering system, please log into Synergy Webmail by going to:
http://mail.YOURDOMAIN.COM (please replace YOURDOMAIN.COM with your actual domain name)
or by going to: http://mail.simplicato.com/
Types of issues with Spam:
SPAM messages are not being classified as Spam:
If spam emails are NOT being labeled as Spam or are NOT being moved to your “Spam” folder in Synergy:
- Verify that the filtering system is enabled for your domain through myAccount.
If the Spam Filtering system is enabled but some SPAM messages are still not being classified as spam, please do the following:
While viewing the list of messages in the INBOX or other Folders:
Please select the "checkbox" to the left of the messages then click the "Report as Spam" link near the top of the page.
While viewing/reading the content of the message:
Please click the "Report as Spam" link near the top of the page.
Either of the actions above will retrain the spam filtering system so that similar types of messages will be correctly classified in the future. Please continue this training until the issue goes away or is sufficiently reduced.
LEGITIMATE messages are being classified as SPAM:
If LEGITIMATE emails are being labeled as Spam or are being moved to your “Spam” folder in Synergy:
- Verify that the filtering system is enabled for your domain through myAccount.
If the Spam Filtering system is enabled and some LEGITIMATE messages are still being classified as spam, please do the following:
While viewing the list of messages in the INBOX or other Folders:
Please select the "checkbox" to the left of the messages then click the "Report as Innocent" link near the top of the page.
While viewing/reading the content of the message:
Please click the "Report as Innocent" link near the top of the page.
Either of the actions above will retrain the spam filtering system so that similar types of messages will be correctly classified in the future. Please continue this training until the issue goes away or is sufficiently reduced.
